The brief was to design gift packs with a hidden surprise element to bring

unexpected joy to the recipients. We had to define 'surprise' through a delightful

unboxing experience within a festive theme, ensuring that the surprise aligns seamlessly with the chosen festive theme. We selected the brand MSCHF and

their booster cards as the product and decided to go with Christmas as our

festive theme.

Why MSCHF?

MSCHF is a creative collectible and brand known for producing controversial,

unique, limited edition products and experiences, often with a touch of humor and social commentary. Hence, we found MSCHF suitable for the context and the

audience.

Concept

Santa, Mother Mary, and Jesus Christ found themselves in a comically awkward situation when they entered the world of reality. In order to blend in they had some necessities and these collectible cards are just what they need, so dive in the realm of our reality. Our packaging has the form of a box that is given as a Christmas gift. The form appears straightforward, but when it is opened, our element of surprise manifests itself. The surprise lies in the functioning of the box. the box. The box can be used afterwards as well to pull a prank on anyone.

Ideation

Objective

The concept of a pop open gift box adds to the kids' enjoyment and fun of the

experience. And what better way to pack the cards than in a gift box for

'Christmas'. The gift box is made in such a way that even after unboxing, it can be used by kids to pull a prank on someone.

Exploring Materials

Initially, we tried to create the form out of corrugated sheet, however it would

break down due to it's weaker structure. Then, we tried using cardboard, but that didn't work out either. At last, we decided to use grey board, which was ideal for

the form of our box as it evenly distributed the weight and was able to hold the structure when the box flips.
